Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Development Engineer

Position Summary:

Stackpole Engineering Services, Inc. is a provider of comprehensive engineering solutions for OEM Manufactures and Professional Race teams. Originally founded as a tire testing, modeling and analysis services company, our team of industry leading professionals have decisively grown our corporate repertoire to include expert services in all areas related to vehicle systems modeling and analysis. Our customers include firms within the OEM automotive, heavy duty military and off road, professional motorsports, and Tier 2 and 3 markets. We are currently seeking highly motivated engineers with experience in Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Development to join our team.


Successful candidates should have extensive knowledge in dynamic systems modeling for designing new vehicle based simulation tools as well as verification and validation of existing applications. The ideal candidate would have experience in vehicle systems modeling and dynamics, tire modeling, C++/C# programing, MATLAB and Dymola. This position requires a tenacious attention to detail, flexible work schedule and strong technical communication skills. Candidates will be working within our technical team contributing to in-house product development, assisting customers with application and validation within existing programs and implementing advanced customizations to our existing products. You will be based at our offices in North Canton, Ohio, but there may be projects that require you to travel and work onsite with our clients.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

            Work as part of the SES development team to identify and further technologies and methods for enhancing our vehicle dynamics simulation software.

            Develop and implement customizations to SES existing simulation models and analysis products.

            Interact deeply with customers to streamline the applications process and verify model methods for their organizations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

            BSME or MS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with specialization in dynamic systems engineering related topics.

            3-5 years of Simulation Development experience preferably in advanced simulation engineering or in the automotive/motorsports industry.

            Extensive experience in identifying variables, analyzing challenges and implementing solutions with commercially available simulation software, such as Dymola/Modelica simulation tools.

            Knowledge in applications and creation of tools utilizing Matlab/Simulink, C++, C# and Microsoft .Net

            Background in developing engineering solutions in a collaborative distributed team environment.

            Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
