Squadra Corse PoliTO is a racing team entirely run by students of the Polytechnic of Turin, who design, manufacture, assemble and test a formula style race car to compete in Formula SAE events. Squadra consists of around 40 students coming from different degree courses who work together under the principle of "learn by doing", preparing to face the working environment immediately after the graduation.
Squadra Corse PoliTo was established in 2004 when some students enrolled in the Automotive Engineering decided to participate in the formula SAE competitions. Although their first prototypes participated in the combustion category, the team soon became interested in the hybrid and electric class. In 2010 and 2011 Squadra Corse became world champion in the hybrid category. In 2012 the team transitioned to the electric category and achieved excellent results both in Italian and international stages. In 2019, thanks to the solidity of the know-how on the electric powertrain, the team became the Italian champion in the EV class.
