SES Supports Virginia Motorsports

Virginia Motorsports is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based at the University of Virginia. The organization primarily focuses on automotive engineering projects including, but not limited to, Formula and Baja SAE. The organization was founded in the mid 1990s with a primary focus on research in the automotive industry and machine learning. This transitioned into the tuning and racing of INEX Legends Cars in the early 2000s. Within the last six years, the organization has focused on the design and build of multiple Baja SAE vehicles, but now focusing primarily on Formula SAE and hands-on engineering education to students at the University of Virginia.
Virginia Motorsports competed in the Formula SAE Michigan June competition for the first time in 2021, passing all technical inspections and finishing three out of the four dynamic events. The team placed 35th overall out of 45 IC teams. The team returned for the 2022 competition and finished all events, placing 18th out of 43 IC teams. The team is very proud of the improvements made and is excited for what the future holds.
